We have a new fund, GAMES FUND ONE, focused on the future of the games ecosystem. GAMES FUND ONE is founded on the belief that games will play a pivotal role in defining how we socialize, play, and work over the next century. The new fund is built on a16z’s track record as an investor in Oculus, Zynga, Axie Infinity, and backing founders from Blizzard, Epic Games, and Riot Games.
a16z is seeking to recruit a Deal Analyst to join the firm’s Games team. The successful candidate will work closely with General Partners Andrew Chen, Jonathan Lai and James Gwertzman in driving all aspects of investments, including defining segments of interest, sourcing investment opportunities, due diligence; specifically providing a detailed analysis in picking startups. The successful candidate will play an impactful role in a highly collaborative, dynamic and entrepreneurial firm. - Sift through large customer data sets to identify strengths and weaknesses of a startup
- 1-3 years experience in games, tech, or consulting
- Ideally includes operational experience in either a games-related startup or company
- Also ideal background includes time as an Analyst or Associate in banking, finance, or consulting
- Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills
- Proven track record to succeed in an ever changing environment
- Conviction in your viewpoints but with a quick feedback loop that allows for rapid resourcefulness
- Intellectually curious with a dedication to go the extra mile
- Collaborative attitude with a team-first approach
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated judgment; record of making winning decisions
- Ability to quickly build rapport and trust from others
