Sygnum’s diverse and talented team of banking, investment and DLT experts is shaping the development of a trusted digital asset ecosystem.

As a backend engineer at Sygnum you have gained your experience with typical large scale backend technologies like databases, large applications, integrations, with messaging or pub-sub systems and have a good understanding of scaling technologies like Kubernetes. But now you want something new and more exciting. You will be working on a JavaScript based backend stack, work with typical web3 technologies like Rosetta API or hierarchical storage systems and build the backend of future finance. You’ll be joining an amazing team working at the forefront of new technology, solving the challenges which you can not find on StackOverflow.

 

Tasks

  • Create scalable backend services based our tech-stack which JavaScript/TypeScript (NestJs) run on AWS or Lambda or fluency in a comparable language like Java.
  • Create scalable backend (micro-) services, which integrate in a complex environment of different products (e.g. Core Banking), interfaces (REST, LDAP, Web3, HSMs, Kafka, etc).
  • Take responsibility of our component libraries and application code.
  • Cooperate with Architects and strive to deliver rock solid solutions.
  • Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements and support prototypes for new component and product ideas.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field – e.g. computer science.
  • Fluency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Java a plus, and proficiency in related backend technologies (Databases, ESBs, NodeJs, also protocols like oAuth), and good knowledge of web technologies (HTML/CSS, REST, NodeJS) a plus.
  • Experience and references as a Backend Engineer in complex setups in a specific language (e.g. Java).
  • Understanding microservices, event driven APIs and being able to implement complex functionality in TypeScript – e.g. NestJs, Flux, lambda or cloud functions.
  • Understanding the development lifecycle and its technologies – Git, CI/CD tools, unit testing, vulnerability.
  • A plus would be understanding of web3 or blockchain technologies or APIs.
